The 25-year-old former Manchester United midfielder Kieran Richardson has signed a three-year contract with Sunderland which will see him remain on Wearside until summer 2013.
Kieran Richardson has played 85 games for the Black Cats till date, scoring a total of 8 goals, all in Barclays Premier League.
Richardson, was also thought to be a target for Everton and Middlesbrough but Sunderland’s manager Roy Keane was able to sign-up a contract with Richardson as Keane said “I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring Kieran to Sunderland,”
“Having worked with him in the past I’m well aware of what a good player and a good lad he is. He’s ready for a fresh challenge and hopefully Sunderland will provide that for him.”
Kieran Richardson, who is expected to be a part of the playing squad in Sunderland’s friendly match against Darlington on Wednesday, described the move as “exciting”. Continue reading
